  • To learn that secret, you have to go there.
  • habbit i guess :P. I don't believe it is a christian thing, the romans used it. The original is "Requiescat in pace" There will be a new heaven and new earth after judgement day, that is for sure (to me), but until then i don't know for sure. There are theories, but i haven't studied those. I think resting is the last thing i'll do in heaven.
  • They are alive in the astral realm, where the illusions of God are nowhere to be found.
  • I think that is to make the freinds and relatives at peace as when one dies we never really know where they went but we like to hope for the best
  • RIP is the acronym for the English prayer "Rest in Peace" and the Latin original "Requiescat in pace" and typically occurs on headstones. The full prayer for the repose of the souls of the dead would be translated as "may he/she rest in peace." This prayer is concerned with the deceased person's ultimate journey and destination. + A soul in heaven is at rest, not sleeping but totally at peace + A soul in purgatory and on its way to heaven is in anticipation of its heavenly rest. + A soul in hell will never be at rest. With love in Christ.
  • They are "resting"...To God, death is not as permanent as we think it is. (Psalm 13:3) Do look [upon me]; answer me, O Jehovah my God. Do make my eyes shine, that I may not fall asleep in death, We remain asleep until we are resurrected... (Revelation 20:12-13) And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Ha′des gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds.
  • What does the Bible say happens after death? First, for the believer in Jesus Christ, the Bible tells us that after death believers’ souls/spirits are taken to heaven, because their sins are forgiven by having received Christ as Savior (John 3:16, 18, 36). For believers, death is to be “away from the body and at home with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23). However, passages such as 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 describe believers being resurrected and given glorified bodies. If believers go to be with Christ immediately after death, what is the purpose of this resurrection? It seems that while the souls/spirits of believers go to be with Christ immediately after death, the physical body remains in the grave “sleeping.” At the resurrection of believers, the physical body is resurrected, glorified, and then reunited with the soul/spirit. This reunited and glorified body-soul-spirit will be the possession of believers for eternity in the new heavens and new earth (Revelation 21-22). Second, for those who do not receive Jesus Christ as Savior, death means everlasting punishment. However, similar to the destiny of believers, unbelievers also seem to be sent immediately to a temporary holding place, to await their final resurrection, judgment, and eternal destiny. Luke 16:22-23 describes a rich man being tormented immediately after death. Revelation 20:11-15 describes all the unbelieving dead being resurrected, judged at the great white throne, and then being cast into the lake of fire. Unbelievers, then, are not sent to hell (the lake of fire) immediately after death, but rather are in a temporary realm of judgment and condemnation. However, even though unbelievers are not instantly sent to the lake of fire, their immediate fate after death is not a pleasant one. The rich man cried out, “I am in agony in this fire” (Luke 16:24). Therefore, after death, a person resides in a “temporary” heaven or hell. After this temporary realm, at the final resurrection, a person’s eternal destiny will not change. The precise “location” of that eternal destiny is what changes. Believers will ultimately be granted entrance into the new heavens and new earth (Revelation 21:1). Unbelievers will ultimately be sent to the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15). These are the final, eternal destinations of all people—based entirely on whether or not they had trusted Jesus Christ alone for salvation (Matthew 25:46; John 3:36).
  • They're ________________________________dead..period..say anything you want, but as porky pig said..abadeeya, abadeeya..that's all folks!
  • What you have stated is a false teaching. Firstly, everyone who dies do not all go to heaven. The Bible mentions specifically only 144,ooo since the days of Jesus. Rev. 7;9 & 14;1 The ' rest in peace" can be accurate because also according to the Bible, there is NO activity at all when dead. From this we can reckon that there can be NO such things as ghosts. (Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun. NO ACTIVITY AT ALL. But the good news is...is that we are all in God's memory and we can look forward to being resurrected, meaning a standing up, again. Those 'deeds' are NOT what we ourselves did wrong during our life, but in fact are how we react to being resurrected into God's NEW SYSTEM. Good and bad will be resurrected... (Acts 24:15) and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Properly studied, the whole Bible and its scriptures all tie in. "Hell" is simply our common grave. And when death is removed, there will BE no more graves... (Revelation 20:14) And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire. Hades is Greek for Hell. The 'lake' is destruction., Satan himself is destined for that same lake that same destruction... (Revelation 20:10) And the Devil who was misleading them was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where both the wild beast and the false prophet [already were]; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. So in no way is Satan in charge of a hot place...Hell and that lake are two different situations...
  • 7-8-2017 Your question is a collection of messes. When people die they don't "go" anywhere. They are dead. Just like your computer is dead when the power is off. Hell is a hole is a grave. Check any dictionary. Everybody goes there except we who are alive when Jesus calls us to meet him in the air. There is a lake of fire, but only spirits go there. Preachers speak all manner of bullshit because they don't have to learn anything from the bible to get their jobs. They only have to learn what their denomination pushes. Don't let anybody tell you what the bible says. Read it for yourself. Read a chapter of Proverbs every day. Proverbs has 31 chapters so you can keep your place by just looking at a calendar. There is no religion or nothing in Proverbs and you don't have to believe anything. Just read to find wisdom. When you are comfortable with that, then read the bible from Romans to 2 Thessalonians over and over until you start to remember what it says. That is the part that applies to Christians.
  • They exist. Those with God are alive and those without him are in a conscious death. Those with God are "resting" from worries and cares. Everything is provided for them without them even asking. That's the kind of rest ment. The Earth itself will be said to be at rest during Christ's 1,000 year reign because it will be treated right.
  • To bring comfort to those of us whom are still here in this world. We have an eternal life after death on this earth. We believe we go to a place wonderful to go too. Jesus Christ said He went to prepare a place for us. A wonderful place. If we go there or not is our choice, our free choice of what we do here on this earth. All these wonderful glories are ours if we but truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word. The choice is yours your free choice.
