  • The chances of you getting any form of malware on Mac OS X are very slim indeed, and even if you did ever get a virus then clearing your browser cache will have no effect on it. Anti-malware software is what you'd need. Assuming you're using Firefox, select "Clear Private Data" to clear everything out.
  • That won't help. Once the virus makes it into your system, deleting your web history or cache won't do a thing. At best, it's like putting on a helmet AFTER you just wrecked your motorcycle. Then again, most viruses and other malware don't affect macs or Linux boxes anyways.
