Can't he wait until you finish growing and all your baby teeth have fallen out naturally? I need braces too but I've been seeing my orthodontist for the past 8 years and I still haven't gotten my braces because she wanted to wait till I stop growing so I don't need to go back and fix my teeth again... I don't really get it but it's supposed to be better. So ask if you can just wait for them to fall out on their own without having him pull them out! Plus it sounds painful...

Every child should see an orthodontist at an early age. This could be as young as 2 or 3, but the American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial consultation no later than age 7. By age 7, enough permanent teeth have come in and enough jaw growth has occurred, that problems can be identified. Early consultation allows the orthodontist to determine the optimum time for treatment to begin. Many parents and some family dentists assume that they must wait until a child has all of his or her permanent teeth, only to find out that treatment would have been much easier if started earlier. Early treatment can eliminate the need for more drastic measures. In some cases, satisfactory results are unattainable once the face and jaws have finished growing. With proper timing, children may not have to endure years of embarrassment. Adults can be treated at any age as long as the gums and bone holding the teeth are healthy. I would go for a second opinion. My daughter needed braces when she was still having 4 baby teeth and he left them there, just putting brackets on the teeth that needed it. When they came out naturally, he waited until the new teeth were fully grown and added brackets on those new teeth as well. SHe had her braces off last year and her teeth are perfect now. Alternatively, my friend's daughter who still had baby teeth was given plates to fit her baby teeth instead of braces and when she got her adult teeth she was given full braces. The plates had helped her prepare her for the braces so the braces won't have to be on as long as without the plates.

Yes. Depending on how your teeth are under the baby teeth it might be necessary. My orthodontist told me the same thing. She told me that my adult teeth were crooked and that they couldn't push out my baby teeth. She told me I could wait for them to try to fall out on their own, it's been a year and a half and they still haven't fallen out. You should ask your orthodontist if they will fall out on their own soon, if not just let him pull them and get it over with.

no i would not let him do it becoz your mouth would not let your teeth grow properly when i was younge ri used to have a load of teeth out and that was about 22 yrs ago and they still haven't grown proprly

I don't understand why just about every second or third young person I see these days has braces. Surely, there aren't that many people with tooth problems? When I was growing up, braces were only put on very occasionally and when there were bad problems with crooked teeth.

my dentist reccomended i get braces too because i have 4 molars and 4 k9 teeth that don't have enough room to come in so there not disolving the routes of the baby teeth and if they diside to go ahead and come out w/o my baby teeth falling out the would come straight through my gum nasty and painful. so they would pull my 8 teeth and put braces on to make room 4 my permenant teeth soo i know how you feel an dto answer your question yes it is alright for him to pull them cause if you do it know you won't have to do it when your older i always joked about having to get braces and know i'm going to get them

My baby teeth took forever to come out so they ended up pulling I think 4 of them along with 4 adult teeth so I could get my braces on. If I had waited for the baby teeth to fall out I probably woulda been out of high school for two years before braces went on. My adult teeth grew in suprisingly fast after I had the baby teeth pulled, I wouldnt worry about it though they knbow what there doing, of course its always good to get a secong opinion.

well i would just wait i am 11 and i need braces but ny dentist said to wait until all my baby teeth fell out and my molars came in cuz then maybe the molars will straighten the teeth and then you wont have to wear braces as long and also when u get braces at a young age u will have them on longer and may need them again in the future when u r older and it will look weird that is what happened to my older sis she got braces at 8 and is now 24 and needs them again so i would wait till they fall out and maybe let ur molars come in cuz the dentist cant put the braces on without u letting him do it same with the baby teeth if u wont let him do it then he cant
