  • For the same reason some women lead double lives and have two men. They aren't satisfied with only one partner. They are usually getting different needs met by both of their partner's... for example they might enjoy a stable home life with one while they go out and party with the other.
  • because happiness and contentment is not in their vocabulary..
  • Because they get away with it
  • Not my husband! Its the men you choose! There are some really good men out there! True there are bad men and women for that matter!
  • Humans, as well as other species, are by design instinctively wanting to pro-create. This instinct sometimes gets in the way of civilization as we know it today... The way we were brought up and those morals that were instilled in us as youngsters are sometimes not important until we loose those that are most precious to us. Have faith in those you love and remember we can only use our own consious to guide ourselves.
  • I suppose it is because they can. They have mastered lying, juggling two women and they have become expert at it. Not to say that women can't do the same thing too but men are better because they are less "emotional" about things.
  • Maybe cause they are twice as dumb as the average guy.
  • Maybe because they're obviously not interested in love or trust, but probably just because they can.
  • well, they probably have mommy issues and need to dominate women. Sometimes they have seen their father do it and repeat the same. I see a common issue with being committed. They say their parents go through a divorce and can't deal with the commitment idea or marriage in general.
  • Because some men need more more than one woman. Because two women are more interesting than one woman. Because their biological drive is still in primitive gear. Because women are terrific and men are attracted to us. It's fine with me - but what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
  • Alcohol and drugs
  • because they can't get enough of a bad thing.
  • They are gluttons for punishment !
  • Why do some women do the same?
  • Because it's hard to pass up a " two for one" sale.
  • Unfortunately, I have a man in my life that is leading a double life. It is a very interesting question and an answer cannot be applied to all men in general. Every single man that finds himself in that situation will have his own reasons. Why does the man in my life do it? Read on please and I apologize in advance if this disturbs anyone. When we started dating, he had a child that he had with an ex. They didn't really date each other, it was an accident. I knew that and accepted the child and whatever baggage into my life. Unbeknown to me, this woman decided that from the time he announced he was in love with me, that she loved him and was going to do whatever she could do get him back. So, the first tatic she used was to beg him to have a vasectomy. She used tears to convince him that he should never have children with me. Now please get a picture of her in your minds. She is very short and extremely overweight. (not that there is anything wrong with that, so please forgive me.) I just thought I would never have to worry about her. And a family member was dying so I excused alot of her behaviour. I even offered to help her with this family member, and did whatever I could to accomadate the situation. She would do things to make me look bad. And he would believe her. So many arguments would be over things I had supposedly done. She would arrange things so that my time with him was minimal. Using the child as an excuse to monopolize his time. Then she started talking about all the things she was going to do for my BF before the family member even died. And after almost two years of dating my BF she offered him money to break up with me. He excepted the offer, and broke up with me. They got back together minutes after he broke up with me. He kept calling me and would be crying on the phone. He would ask me Can you look after me? I had to ask myself what was going on. Was he being held there against his will? He would come to see me after we broke up. And I guess you could say that we never stopped seeing each other. The reason we broke up and went back to her was because he had a nervous breakdown. And I guess now his life is so comfortable and the fact he is able to be around his child so much makes it difficult for him to make the decision that he knows he has to make. He lives a very stressful life knowing that he only thinks of her as a friend as he is not attracted to her at all. I imagine that most people would read this and think that: a) He deserves the stress in his life b) He is selfish c) I am just as much to blame d) I should move on But it's hard. Would I recommend this life to anyone. NEVER. If anyone is faced with a similar situation, I know how hard it is to do the right thing. If you are thinking of leading a double life, man or woman. Don't do it please.
  • because they are dickheads with no self respect or respect for others.
  • Stupidity.
  • One wifes nagging is not enough. Personally I think they are weak men who just have to say yes, to please . They are liars, cheats and disreputable.
  • because they can??? --seriously I have no idea..it seems like a tremendous amount of work to me...maybe their own lives lack a level of excitement that they crave? --or maybe it is in the same family of relationships where a married man has a gay relationship(s) on the side for years...maybe he just doesn't get everything he wants from 1 source?
  • Because they think they can get away with it... simple as that!
  • These are the guys that like to burn the candle at both ends. The bottom end is always hot so they think they need more than one woman to satisfy themselves. They often get caught and burned further by divorce settlements.
  • ...who knows? it seems that each perception and each motivation is different...; so answering "why" certainly in a way that condemns these men will only hurt the ones who feel entitled enough to cast this judgment.... ...anyway, women do the same thing...; the question might be: why does it matter so much? ...wouldn't it be easier to just be clear with your partner or partners... I can see how the hiding part seems a bit juvenile and quite unnecessary....but the act itself needn't be so affronting....unless you are laboring under some strange idea that implies you can actually possess your mate....
  • It ain't complicated. Guys love getting laid.
  • Sexual Addiction. Excitement. Thrill of sneaking around....some men are just pigs and don't respect anybody, including themselves. Sometimes it's a new love versus an old flame that somehow continues to contain a glowing ember that the man, for some reason, can't just snuff out. He has difficulty deciphering whether or not he is making a mistake by choosing one over the other, so he decides not to decide at all. Some just make mistakes. No matter what the reasoning, it's all wrong.
  • Men who choose to lead double lives have no clue how they leave the woman feeling. I believe that it is very selfish that they think only of themselves even if they aren't getting everything they need from one woman. This is the time when you should sit down with your partner and let them know you need more in your relationship. For example intamacy, time etc. This is not the time to cheat and try to get it elsewhere. Men, if you have found someone you feel is better than what you already have, do me a favor, let the one you have know and let her go. It is really painful for the woman when she eventually stumbles on the truth.
  • They were traditional Mormons in a previous life? Who knows why men do this. Perhaps they like variety, or perhaps they're just needing lots of female attention.
  • Only two? Men can separate relationships. To them sex is sex, not love or committment. It's the way they are made. A man can love his wife yet have sex with another woman and think nothing of it. I'm not saying that is ethically or morally acceptable nor am I saying all men are alike. Not all men are led by their "lower" head.
  • Because there idiots!
  • For me, i have the woman i had my daughter with, and i'm in love with the other woman, now i can't make the right choice what to do.
  • From past experience it's called being unable to make a the right decision and stringing people along. Guys that know what they want don't do it. That's the single guy answer. Guys that cheat on their wives have serious problems and obviously missed hearing the "vows" part during the ceremony. Besides, you can't continue this charade too long before you're caught. Monogamous relationships rule. If the couple is not capable they'll know soon enough and move on. Hardship, broken feelings - yes, but it's part of dating.
  • I don't know I've just found out my boyfriend has another girlfriend and was due to marry her next year and was looking at buying a gouse with her. and she also found out that he's been sleeping with men - many many men. He sick-thats they only conclusion I've come to. His name is mark daniels so if you meet him boys and girls i'd say thanks but no thanks!!!
  • I think it's because they are searching for something, but don't know what it is. They think they find it, but soon find out that that wasn't it.
  • I googled this topic because I really don't know the answer. I know my own situation and it bothers me for many reasons: the top reason being that I have been in situations where that man is doubling up, but I am the one that knows the situation and has to then accept it. I am not the one whose feelings he is trying to preserve and when there is a child involved, he is moreso vested in maintaining the status quo of the relationship with the child's mother. I know that it is my fault. I have been the strong woman and cut if off, but I am guilty of being the woman who wants to have great sex during a dry spell while searching for the 'one'. My concern is, how can one claim to care about someone that they are being so duplicitous, scheming, lying, disrespectful and ultimately hurtful to (if and when the secret is revealed)? Don't judge me as I am a smart woman who is well-aware of the mistakes that she has made as it is so very true that 'you can not choose who you fall for' and so many men out there seem to want to fall for anything with a pulse.
  • Why does a dog lick it's balls? because it can.
  • Because it takes a real man to commit his whole being to one woman. It takes freggin work and determination and committment. Some men enjoy the chase and having a variety. I think about it all the time and remember the vows i made, i will never go back on my word.
  • I've had two women on occasion however they were both VERY aware of the other. I'll have as many sexual partners at one time as I deem fit, however I won't hide that from someone I'm sleeping with. Besides the best part is when they finally decide to meet each other. Hot tub, Champagne, and it get interesting.
  • keeps them on their toes and excitement (maybe)
  • because if they can they do. Why have one piece of pie when you can have two? In their eyes if they can get away with it they will for as long as they can!
  • Maybe one woman isn't enough. I've dated women who were fantastic in bed, but I couldn't hold a conversation with them about ANYTHING. And I've known women that I could debate immigration laws with, but refused to do the oral sex thing. Each of these women apart are half of everything I need. But by their powers combined, they are Captain DreamWoman. Don't you see? THEY COMPLETE ME. and each other. Plus, guys like variety. Like mixed nuts.
  • I just found out my guy is married and was leading a double life. But more in a Scott Peterson scary type way. Not all men are bad but you have to trust your instincts and see the signs. If I hadn't trusted mine and questioned him I never would have found out. I contacted his wife and she was shocked. Thought she had the perfect marriage. AND I also uncovered that he was cheating w/hookers and who knows who else. He is just a bad man, and he is only 30 so he is already a pretty good con-artist. I would just advise women to trust their intuition and if something doesn't feel right, ASK QUESTIONS. A guy who has nothing to hide won't make you feel weird about a question. And there are enough single jerks in the world to waste time with a married one, LOL just kidding, there are great single guys out there too. Who cares WHY they do it, just GET OUT.
  • I guess they want excitment. As for me, I chose not to go that route.
  • Because somewhere in their minds they actually believe they can get away with it. :)
  • Why do you assume only men do this?
  • trying to save time maybe? unless they ALREADY found "love" then they're just assholes.
  • Well i have recently discovered my husband of 23 years, yes,23 YEARS, has been leading a double life for possibly the last 10 years. The signs were there I just buried my head in the sand. What were the signs? Firstly, his mobile was never away from him never accidentally left at home and always on charge in his car.It had a password on it which I never knew. His emails, folders files etc. on this computer were also heavily passworded out to me.He had a bank account in his name to which I had no access and as he has been a very busy man ( he has 2 jobs, the second one ,a driving instructor, was I feel purely to bring in the money for his other life. He also told me it eased the guilt he felt because he was using his money for his other women from this account and not taking money from the joint account, although he did take money from that as well- i think he got blase' in the end) I foolishly left the handling of our finances to him because I do not have a head for figures. He would do online banking and cancelled all paper statements coming to the house. I have not seen his wage slips for years because again when he said he was working overtime he most probably wasn,t.How did he get away with it for so long? Well, he took full advantage of my good nature, knowing that at heart what meant everything to me is our 2 daughters and grand-daughter.I was the stable, dependable one.Our girls would often say they would ring their dad and he wouldn,t answer at all or it would be hours before he got back to them, another sign of infidelity.I was also hopeless on the computer, bored by them in fact, which he well knew so again he was able to chat to other women on social network sites which I had no idea even exsisted.Alarm bells have been ringing this year mainly because of him having 2 jobs, both bringing in a good income, so howcome we were overdrawn at the bank? Delving into our finances has proved utterly frightning as so much there is to me unaccountable. The bank may have to call the fraud people in. This is just a small insight into my life over the past 8 weeks when I finally started pieceing bits together. I have been living in hell my universe shattered. My conclusion is that this man is a pathological liar as researching into this has shown many similiarities, one of which is that they come from dysfunctional families which he does although he has never acknowledged that fact.Or is he just simply a scheming,coniving,cruel,two-faced sewer rat? When confronted and things start to get uncomfortable for him either on the mob or face to face he either hangs up or just drives off in his car. This is the action of a pathological liar. I will be starting 2009 wiyh my divorce petition.Thank God that I have another chance of happinesss at 45. I could have gone on another 5 or 10 years being completely duped by this man because I TRUSTED HIM 100%.
  • i think assholes
  • Because some are not real bright.
  • Adventure freak...
  • I wish I would know. My dad always had multiple girlfriends. I used to always like guys who were only with me. Now I'm in a relationship for 3 years and I found out that my sweetheart is seeing his ex. He lied, and lied, and lied. Did I make him lie? The bad part is I feel even sorry for him for loving two people, I always saw my dad suffer because he did not know who was the right one and he still asks me to this day. However, it sucks loving a man who does not know what he wants or can't live it. As for my man, I think he is so attached to his past than he can not live the present. The last month I tried to leave him, stopped calling him back, told him I can't handle this, and still he holds on to me so strong and he does not let me go. God please help me! What do I have to learn from these men with double lives? That I don't need them? That I'm allowed to love someone who is not so confused about his happiness?
  • cause 4 or 5 women can be too confusing- best limit it to 2.
  • I think it is arrogance, i have been with my partner for 3 1/2 yrs married for 8 months, blissfully i might add.Ive have just discover he has been seeing a woman for the last 4 yrs, to all intense and purposes i am the other woman!!!! I dont know which wqy to turn.I am very strong person but this has floored me. What lies, humiliation, and not just me but all of our friends and family. Its disgusting. Thats why i googled it, it seems like its fairly common, makes me feel sick. This site really is a help thankyou x
  • Because they want to. If they didn't want to, they wouldn't be doing it in the first place or they would put an end to it once they realized what they were doing.
  • Sin that is te only reason sin.
  • It mostly happens in muslim countries. In a country like Saudi they dont meet eachother before marriage. So the mens hope to find the second wife a better one.
  • could be fear of commitement, could be that the different women satisfy different needs or desires of his, could be the thrill of playing this game and trying not to get caught, could be ego fulfillment, could be sex addicition
  • Some guys are so mentally and spiritually weak that they let their genital organs control their lives, this life style is destroying women's life. Real men can handle and upperhand the argue of having sex with other women who are not their wives.
  • b/c those kind of men are selfish and spoiled. maybe they were never taught to chose what they need and not what they want in life. you can't always have it all.
