having patience is an absolout MUST to be a good parent. also be compassionate to the little understanding they have between right and wrong. and the ability to understand that your the adult and they are the child! as in an tantrum or argument you have to step back and look deeper as to why they are doing this, they cannot explain how they are feeling as an adult can,and always be calm and firm, not aggressive, its hard to be a " good parent" im 24 and a mum of a 1 and 4 year old, i dont always have good patience but i try my best. im tollerant to alot of things but strict when needs be!! you are a good parent when you and your child can communicate and there is love and a loving enviroment.

Unconditional love, patience, consistency.

Openmindedness: You can't just sit back and dictate and assume you know everything and children know nothing. That's why I hate my parents - most of the time, I was in fact correct in our arguments...but they wouldn't even consider it, which led me to think, why should I even care what they say anymore?

Being there at all times That's how my mother raised me since my father is in and out of my life

Real, tough, sweet love. You can have everything else you need, but without knowing how to love, you will never be more than a teacher. To be a mother or father, you need love.
