  • Your husband caught his wife?
  • Given that you and he were able to marry suggests that it must be okay. I think in this instance only an already existing marriage would prohibit people from marrying another.
  • Mattehw 5:32 "But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery." According to Jesus' statement, if it happened in the way your husband told you, neither of you is committing adultery and were free to marry one another.
  • i dont think youre doing anything wrong
  • Some churches like to claim they cannot marry and some say cannot hold any position in the church. This is hogwash. Churches like to take verses out of context to fit their needs. Some one mentioned Matt. 5:32. it is completely misquoted. It says, "finds an uncleanness..." Dealing with denying belief in God and worshiping other gods. As long as they desire to marry they may do so.
  • Er "...caught his ex-wife..." . . . . Answering the question: basically, there are two different interpretations of the important Bible verse. #1# (Most Protestants and Orthodox) - It is allowed for a Christian to divorce their spouse in cases of spousal infidelity. #2# (Catholics) - It is NOT allowed for a Christian to divorce their spouse for the reason of infidelity. A Christian is only permitted to divorce their spouse in the case where the marriage is itself illicit. (Example of an illicit marriage: at the time of the wedding one of the couple was already married, in which case that second, polygamous marriage is an illicit marriage.)
  • In the bible, adulterous women were usually stoned to death for their crime, so that left the way clear for a remarriage.
