We have a fair number of people or Russian extraction in the area where I live. That was how I ran into Steve Zbitinoff and Wayne Shurstabitoff. Yes, they are pronounced like you think (or would prefer not to). There is also a woman who shops in the store where I work, who changed her name to Luv Ann Understanding. The Russians are okay. The woman is extremely weird.

So far, the most interesting name of a person I've met was Maria Metallic (her married name). But in a former job, I had a client whose name was My Ho. Which was only funny when I was digging through my file cabinet and the boss asked what file I was looking for... "My Ho..." Boss: "Uhh... you have a file on that?" And where I work now, we have actual customers with the names Dick Peed and Harry Jeans. Spelled exactly that way.
