  • Well, it just grows back with the appearance of being thincker, and is a bit labourious. Most people I know just get it waxed or leave it, its personal choice. Hey, you can get rid of your arm hair however you want!
  • UPDATE: Do what you want. Isn't that the answer everyone wants to hear? Otherwise, we could have a much more informative discussion.
  • I used to for the same reason as you, but I don't any more. It didn't grow back thicker or darker either.
  • No, it is not bad and it does not have to mean any kind of psychological disorder/condition. People just have different ideas of what does or does not look good. A guy friend of mine shaves his legs because he does not like leg hair and not because he works out or anything.. a girl I use to work with shaved her arms because she did not feel feminine with it. It is a personal preference. It definitely can grow back thicker and sometimes darker once you stop shaving.
  • I shave my arms there's nothing wrong with it. It's just like shaving your legs some poeple do and some don't, poeple have different preferences. I only do it during the summer though, cause that's when people see them the most.
  • i have never shaven my arms.lol im a dude and dont plan on doing it ever.
  • Haha! Nice question. I have shaved my arms since before I started shaving my legs....It was never that i had too much hair on them, i just never liked the look of it on women. ALOT of people do it without even saying anything. I dont think its weird...and everyone who knows me doesnt think so either. They all just accept it as something I do. I wouldn't put too much thought into it...it your choice and yours alone!
  • No Actually my son used to do that in the Summer and I know lots of guys that do. Its not weird it's just your preference.
  • I do not shave my arms, but then again the hair on my arms is light and fine. If the hair on my arms was dark and coarse, I probably would have started using a hair remover. So I guess everyone you know would think that I'm wierd, too, in that case. I don't think it is bad at all. I actually think that what would be bad is not caring at all about your appearance and grooming. Just be comfortable with yourself and your beauty habits. If you're afraid of getting reactions like this, then you don't need to tell anyone. Eventually, you may want to consider electrolysis, so that the hair is removed permanently.
  • no, it's simply YOUR choice, not the others'
  • It's not weird, like everyone else is saying, it's a choice. However i would recommend switching to waxing which will after a few years lessen the amount of hair that grows back while shaving it is only going to make it thicker.Plus when any area of your body is waxed it always feels smoother than it does when it's shaved. I started waxing my arms not long ago, but before i used to just bleach the hair on my arms.
  • No, that's just a choice. You can always stop if you're through with it. Don't fear the initial stubble phase, they will get soft as they get long. Finally, they will be replaced by new taper and finer hair. Pardon my English, you know, I'm Italian.
  • I do shave my arms cuz it looks better and i have done it since i was 12. i have blonde hair on my arms, i used to feel my best friends arms and i always did mine since. But if i had a girl with hairy arms its a different story
  • I shave my arms. I have dark arm hair and it was kinda long. I was always paranoid about it so one day I just shave my lower arm. I don't shave my upper arm becuase it is not as thick or noticeable. Nothing is wrong with it. I just let it grow out a bit, because short arm hair isn't that bad and is rather cute. Remember, don't shave to often.

  • I shave my arms! My mom was disgusted when she first noticed. She said that I could do whatever I wanted, but that it was gross to end up having stubble on your arms. Of course when I get stubbled I shave it back off... It is kind of annoying to maintain but it was so disgusting before I started shaving. I'm fair-skinned with very dark hair so it was extremely noticeable and kind of thick. It lowered my self-esteem, so I got rid of it. I don't find fault in myself for that, but now I always wear long sleeves if I can because I don't want people to notice. So I think it might have been a mistake...
  • Shaving doesnt last as long. I know a couple people (a guy and a gal not a couple) who wax.
