Did you know that someone is yanking your chain? The Moon is the Earth's only natural satellite.
-

Yep. More than 2. I read about Cruithne here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3753_Cruithne

I'd never heard of this before! I was a little disappointed to find out it's considered a quasi satellite, but very interesting nevertheless! Thanx!

I didn't tell you because you didn't ask. That's what AB if for. If you found that out here then AB has fulfilled its mandate and works :)

"Earth has one moon." -quote from NASA http://www.nasa.gov/worldbook/earth_worldbook.html http://www.universetoday.com/guide-to-space/earth/how-many-moons-does-earth-have/
-
Actually, the earth has 6 known moons.
-
Technically the Earth has 7 moons and the moon we know as the moon is not strictly a moon in the tightest sense.
-
Interesting. I have never heard of that asteroid. Even though its not a moon, it is fascinating.
-
Since few week ago, i saw two moons. People said something bad will be happen in Ogos? It 's that true? If it is true, how could it happen? Why it is happen

Didnt think you were old enough to handle the truth....

'Just debris' and 'quasi-satellite' are hurtful terms that have no place on an Earth Sciences post. Please, people, there are impressionable Near Earth Objects that read this forum!
-
+5 I did not tell you because you never asked me. The earth has several moons. Too many for me to list. But if the idea that a moon is an object that circles about the earth in orbit then all the satilites and the International Space station is a moon. For a silly girl, how did I do ?
