Custom is a subset of culture.

To me culture is the outlook or way of doing things that is shared by a entire community, while a custom can be a particular ritual that is practice by some of the people in that culture. For example, men and women's roles in society are generally determined by the culture, but how a person's birthday is celebrated (or not celebrated) would be the custom of the particular family.

There are no races. So to me we are cultures and the custom means what the different cultures do and copy from each other.
