These codes can be tricky, but ultimately the cam sensor is probably the culprit, the crank sensor may have been reading correctly all along but can still trip the code because the computer is not seeing the cam position where it wants it to be..

I have a 1999 5.7 GMC Suburban. No start. But first started to throw misfire codes on random cylinders. Pulled distributor and found the drive gear on the cam had gone soft and chewed up the gear on the distributor. Replaced distributor, but after 1500 miles, it, too, is now shot. $3000 to replace cam and lifters, gaskets and 14 hours labor for a car I couldn't sell for 2500 running! It's a driveway ornament.
