Go to the HP website (http://www.hp.com), select "Software and driver downloads", provide your printer name and OS and download the driver. It is very clearly set up and easy to use.

You should go to the website for most devices and download the software really. It's a good practice, since very often the version of the software and drivers on the CD are really out of date. The web site should give you full instructions on how to download and install the drivers and the device. Also, you can almost always get the user manual in pdf format too. Since some manuals have really tiny print and for me are unreadable, having them in pdf format means that I can blow up text and in particular images (eg: a motherboard layout) to the level where I can read it.
