  • No! It is very wrong for someone to lie to get a temple reccomend! I know you might feel like you're betraying this person if they're your friend, but if they have done something wrong that would not let that person get into a temple, they need to repent! If I were you, I would talk to the bishop, ask him to keep you anonymous, and let him no that someone has cheated. Think about it this way, by cheating to get a reccomendation, they are cheating your church, your religion, and your God!
  • Going over their head (going to a church leader) would most likey hurt them and discourage them from repentance. Talking to them about it and making known your disgust about their behaviour is better.
  • Yes. As my priest would have said "Mind your own doorstep first - it needs plenty of attention..."
  • DO NOT GO TO THE BISHOP TO TELL ON THEM. On my mission, there were missionaries who broke rules. then when they had their Personal Priesthood Interview with the Mission President, they didn't tell him about it, some of the other missionaries got mad and told on the missionary. The mission President sent the missionaries who tattled home...not the missionary who broke the rules. He did this because we are to cry repentance unto the world, but not force repentance. It might anger and hurt you that you see someone cutting corners, but their own progression depends upon their own willingness to repent. Without repentance, there can be NO progression. The Apostle Paul in Corinthians talks about worldly sorrow and godly sorrow that causes people to repent. Worldly sorrow is US making that person feel bad so they repent because they get caught, or are tattled on so they are forced to repent. This is not repentance, this is anything but. Godly sorrow is not caused by being caught, or being forced to repent, it is caused when the sinner feels sorrow because they have disappointed GOD (not us). This is out of love for their Heavenly Father. I know you want to tell his bishop, we all feel that way, but it is not the right thing to do. My mission president taught us that very well.
  • "Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" I would say yes. Let them work out their own salvation. If God wants to reveal their duplicity to their priesthood leaders, that's one thing, but it is not our role to judge others in this way.
  • Unless you're Mormon... there is no such thing as a "temple recommend". It is a made up process, not from scripture, and is really irrelevant to being a Christian. Should they lie? No... not about anything. But in fact... the Mormon church present a lie in the whole process of Temple Recommend and endowments. Not scriptural. Get out of the cult!!!!
  • If I were you I'd keep my mouth shut. If I were you I'd also keep my hands off computer keyboards until I'd learned the correct way to spell "their". There is no such word as "thier".
    • Gone!
      Who ARE you talking to?
  • Mormons are STRONGLY encouraged to be tattle tails. This is a way of keeping control on the herd. Not only do the higher ups keep their noses in a members business, they can count on TBM's to do it also. So, as a Mormon, it is your responsibility to tattler on others. Even at the behest of hurting them directly or indirectly.
