My best educated guess is that this originated either in the Midwest or was influenced by some of the Midwest rap (e.g., Nelly, Murphy Lee) where the words with the sounds of "ear" (e.g., here, beer) or "air" (e.g., bear, flare) are pronounced "urr." Hence "scared" was pronounced "scurred."

alternative pronunciation of "scare." Also scurred (scared,) scurry (scary) etc. e.g. "Are you scurred?" http://onlineslangdictionary.com/definition+of/scur
