  • If you mean cost effective usage/cost then get yourself rechargeables. They are far better than any alkaline and reuseable thousands of times. I'm still using recahrgables I bought 5 years ago.
  • 9-10-2017 It depends on what effect you want. If you are taking the kids on a camping trip you need one flashlight per kid and one set of batteries per flashlight per night. So you buy the cheapest batteries and throw them away each morning. If you have some you use all the time, it only makes sense to use rechargeable batteries. If you have an emergency device that you might never use, it only makes sense to use lithium batteries because they have fifteen year shelf life.

      AA is the size, not the type. It happens that more equipment uses that size. Cost effectiveness has nothing to do with it.
