I don't see many disturbing films. But from the previews, I think the most disturbing film I've ever seen parts of, was "Hostel". I saw the long trailer and did'nt sleep for two days.
-
There was an episode of the X-Files, where there was this family that had been living in a house since the Civil War. There was much inbreeding and their children were just disgusting looking. It was very sick and I had nightmares for days. (and I don't get scared easily at all).

The Wall was pretty disturbing at some points. A good movie, but some of it had me a little "weird" feeling. Specifically, most of the animation, and the shaving part. Yep. But still, I love the movie =)
-
Blue Velvet is worth mentioning. I had nightmares after that scene in Mulholland Drive with the "guy" hiding behind the dumpster of the diner. And I don't know the name, but there was a movie starring Bjork that involved an execution at the end that rubbed me the wrong way. Now that I think about it, Bjork, in general, causes me to lose sleep.

In the unedited version of The Green Mile, the part where Eduard Delacroix (Michael Jeter) gets electrocuted. The first time I saw that I literally bawled and threw-up at the same time. I don't know why that bothered me so much.
-
1. Elephant Man - A deformed man in ol' England gets abused. Black & white and creepy as hell. Especially to a ten year old boy. What were my parents thinking!? 2. Motel Hell - In a remote hotel, visitors were abducted & buried to their necks in the garden with their thoats slit and stiched, as well as a sack thrown over their heads as they gargeled in pain. The villian also ran around with a chainsaw and pig head over his head. 3. Little Drummer Boy - One scene a group of children pee in a bucket and force/bully a poor child to drink it. 4. Jaws - Never went above my knees in the ocean for years as a child. 5. Borat - Borat walking in on a 300 pound masturbating. Nuff said. Oh, one other is- 6. The Day After - A made for tv movie on ABC back in 1983 about a nuclear war between the U.S. and Soviet Union.

Jeepers Creepers Saw 1,2,3 Hostel Cursed
-
out of the few horror movies I've seen I would say saw I guess, or Mothman Prophecies. Oh, the new amityville horror is pretty good too.
-
Freaks. It's an old black and white horror film from 1932 about murderous circus sideshow performers. The truly disturbing part about this movie is that the sideshow performers are portrayed by actual deformed and handicapped people. Even with this exploitation, which has become something of a debate over the years, this is still one of my favorite movies for many of its cinematic qualities and it's story line. I also love "Hostel" by Eli Roth.
-
itci the killer-watch if you dare.

The Devil's Rejects

"Beauty Knows No Pain" It was a film used by Kilgore College to show off their drill team. The girls had to adhere to puritanical rule. They endured training that was offen pushed girls to the point of bodily harm. There's a scene where they are taking a group picture by a ledge with a bramble bush behind the girls standing on top. They had to smile through everything... It's like a training video for junior Stepford Wives.
-
Star 80. It was a long time ago, but I walked out of that theater feeling like I had just been in a fight. And lost badly. What a horrible, depressing film. Don't watch it. Anyone watched 'Angel Heart' with Mickey Rourke? That also disturbed me.

I totally agree about "Jeepers Creepers", watched the whole thing from behind a pillow. And I think the name of it is "Wrong Turn"? That one kinda weirded me out as well. "Schindler's List" did just for the fact that it really happened (the holocaust).

High Tension. It's not a teen flick and it definitely isn't low budget, but it's gruesome, bloody, scary as all HELL, the plot is actually intact (imagine that, lol) and it has a cool twist at the end. Sadly, the combination of all of these aspects is what makes it disturbing....
-
Requiem For A Dream

SE7EN with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman- the ending was shocking and disturbing - though we could see it coming! BUT My all time most disturbing film: A.I. The ending scene gave me a horrible feeling! I found it hard to wrap my miond around what happeneded an I cried and felt the loneliness. I guess that just shows not jsut how affected I was but how well the film was made that it could evoke this terrible feeling! And I was not the only one who was disturbed by this film, according to friends I spoke to.

Matewan, a 1987 drama by John Sayles. It is a film illustrating the events of a coal mine-workers' strike and attempt to unionize in 1920 in Matewan, a small town in the hills of West Virginia. Based on the Battle of Matewan, the film stars Chris Cooper, James Earl Jones, Mary McDonnell, David Strathairn, Kevin Tighe, Will Oldham, quite a cast. The movie was violent, but not graphic. It is disturbing because it is a true story.
