Guys, let's all be honest. Some of our bellybuttons will smell like poo it's just a fact of life. I think we all need to treat this question seriously and give it the respect it deserves. From time to time after having time on the toilet, forgetting to wash my hands, scratching my bellybutton at some point, makes it smell of poo. :) Calum McDonald

I always thought that because it is technically part of the gastrointestinal tract, even thought it is healed, the odors may still permeate the scar tissue. Mine can sometimes, and is how I came to this conclusion. My only other conclusion is that if not cleaned well the dirt may start to grow the same or similar bacteria that is in feces, which makes it smell.
