Min. 3 depending on age of rig. 2 for truck (tractor) & 1 for trailer. John

5 on most semi trucks
-
normally 3-5

There are 5 on most semi trucks pulling a trailer. The front axle has 2 wheels and the back 4 each have 4 wheels which is why semis are sometimes called 18-wheelers.

it all depends on what they are hauling the heavier the load, the more axles are used, i've seen 5 on the truck and 5 on the trailer i've also seen trailers with what they call a "jeep" its basically to add more axles. the most axles ive ever seen was 14, 5 on truck, 3 on first jeep, 3 on trailer, 3 on second jeep the load was huge

I think most big rigs have 18 wheels (see video). Cab 2 wheels on front axle 4 wheels on 2nd axle 4 wheels on 3rd axle Trailer 4 wheels on axle 1 4 wheels on axle 2 18 wheels Of course, some cabs only have 2 axles (6 wheels) and some trailers only have 1 axle (4 whee;s), so 3-5 would be my real answer.

Depends on how you built it with the spare parts you had from the cash for clunkers program.
