I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe with a new remanufactured alternator that was tested prior to installation but is not working after being installed. Could this be a fusible link and if so, where is it in this truck?

normally the fuse link, is the second wire from the positive terminal on the battery that goes directly to the alternator. A alternator contains two circuits one high amp to the starter, and a secondary for driving, after the battery charges. cars will start with a bad alternator and run on the battery till it dies. is that the problem. if not the problem is somewhere else. Checking the connections around the starter is always a good thing. wires shorting there will blow the alternator and drain the battery.
