  • On London Underground we have double ended units which basically means there is a driving cab at both ends. When you get in your cab and enter your keys to turn it on, the train detects which cab your in and which direction your meant to go in.
  • The subway trains in Japan when reaching their last stop will get cleaned then switch to a track going in the opposite direction. There are a couple of loop trains that go round and round. One of the more well know lines is the JR East Yamanote line which has 2 loops, inner and outer, going in opposite directions. It takes about an hour to complete the trip around Tokyo.
