  • Couldn't tell you. I have NEVER used Soulseek and have yet to get a virus either despite everybody's doom-and-gloom about Limewire ad eMule.
  • lol i wouldn't touch Limewire ad eMule with a barge pole. the reason why you don't get viruses from soulseek is because soulseek by default filters out potentially harmful filetypes such as .bat .exe etc you can change what file types you want to be excluded from your search results and transfers list by clicking "Options / General Optinons" and there will be a section called "File Extension Filtering" in that window. i wouldn't recommend it, although soulseek doesn't seem like the type of p2p to have any viruses, at all.
  • Its hard to get a virus because most users on it are reliable, and because most music is stored in full albums its easy to tell if something looks fishy. Also you have to add users to your uploads permitted list for them to send things to you. However, someone with the username of 'Satan my master' managed to bypass this and sent me a trojan, I have no idea how he did it but it was irritating. Despite this rare breach of security its a very good program.
