Striped: do you say (strIpt) or (strIp-ped) in your area? (I = long i) Or do you used both for different reasons?

Well, striped means bearing stripes and stripped means having something removed, so they aren't interchangeable.

Striped (strip.ped) would be considered very poor English in my area whereas striped (stript), the one syllable word, would be correct.

When I pronounce it I say striped as in strip mall, but a lot of people pronounce it striped as in a striped zebra. But I think as in striped zebra is the more correct way.
