Because that's not the way it really happened. If dinosaurs and Man had existed together, we would not be here. The Earth can only sustain one at the top of the food chain, and humans would have been slaughtered long ago. Haven't these people ever seen Jurassic Park?

You have to be careful here. You're talking both about a creation tale and about natural history and the don't always mix well. Almost all cultures have some sort of story to explain how things came to be. Christians have the story of Adam & Eve. The Greeks had a tale, as did the Norse, the Native Americans, Romans, Asian cultures and others. In the Christian creation story found in the Bible, there's no mention of dinosaurs, most likely because their fossils had not been discovered. And yet dinosaurs did exist and we now know this because we have their bones to tell the story. The dinosaurs ruled the earth for and era but they died out due to some cataclysmic global climate change. What this did was open new avenues of evolution and adaptation. Millions of years after the dinosaurs had disappeared, the ancestor that would become modern man appeared. After us, another species will rule the planet.

Dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago. Lower man didn't show up until about one million years ago, modern man (us) came around about 150,000 years ago. The bible is not a science book, it's mythology.

Bottom line is that too many people make the mistake of using the Bible as the history of the earth and not of man. If you read Genesis 1:28 God specifically tells Adam and Eve to be "fruitful and multiply, and REPLENISH the earth," which is clear that someone or something was here before and they were to be the modern man. God did not give us the information about those things before this point probably due to it's relavance for what we needed to know. Using a word like replenish instead of just populate is one key word that is often overlooked.

the answer to that depends on how seriously you take the bible. i believe personally that the bible is, at best, composed almost entirely of metaphors. so the "adam and eve being created by god out of dust and getting kicked out of eden because a snake coaxed them into eating an apple" thing might mean something very different to me than to someone who is actually religious. as for your other question... why did god create dinosaurs? i dunno. if i was god, i'd create them too, because dinosaurs are awesome.

Why not? God has all the time in the universe. Don't you think He'd get bored waiting around for us? Dinos are animals. Animals ARE in the Bible. You need to open your mind to possibilities.

I've always assumed that the explanation for fossils is that it's just the Devil messing with our heads. Theoretically (if hard-core Christianity can be believed) all challenges to God's authority and the ultimate truth of the Bible can be explained away by the father of lies. Clever of God to have a fall-back like Satan.

Most dinosaurs were small and it would have been no more problem for humans to co exist with them than it was for humans to co-exist with bears, lions, tigers and aurochs. Which humans did, for a long long time- and, unless I am mistaken, still do with most of them. Please get your facts right. Don't just take what you read in your science book Which is probably way out of date now- did it say that dinosaurs were cold-blooded? wrong! It has been proven that many of them were warm blooded. Did it say that most laid eggs and then abandoned the nests like turtles do? Wrong. Maiasaurus built a complex nest like an Aussie bush turkey and looked after the babies until they were mature. Did it say that dinosaurs died out? wrong. Many scientists are saying that birds represent dinosaurs that didn't die out. Did it say that dinosaurs had monochrome scaly skin like reptiles? Wrong. Evidence is that many dinosaurs had bright colours and some had feathers. In fact, the number of species of dinosaur has been revised down radically. Many smaller species were found to be juveniles of larger ones. Secondly, who says that dinosaurs 'died out' before Adam and Eve? The Bible speaks of large land and sea animals, using names such as Leviathan. We don't know what that name represents. The possibility is that it could refer to a dinosaur though. The existence of 'dragons' in world wide mythology (collective memory) could also point to the fact that humans actually witnessed large reptiles on the earth, some of which may have exhaled gases that ignited occasionally. People mock the Ark story by saying that dinosaurs couldn't fit on the Ark. That is assuming though, that Noah took adults specimens. If he took juveniles, that is another matter. Much easier to fit on board, and easier to wrangle.

The Bible is merely quite crude primitive fiction. Its authors were pathetically ignorant, so they had no idea that dinosaurs ever existed. The Bible certainly makes no sense whatsoever.

Not sure what the question is. "Why were there dinosaurs?" is like "Why do we exist?" Dinosaurs existed. We exist. All living things presently on Earth came from other living things. Modern humans came from primitive humans, who descended from some sort of ape (humans are technically apes, anyway, even though we seem to tend to think of ourselves as something more important), and apes descended from some sort of primate, which descended from some sort of mammal, which descended from some sort of animal. Dinosaurs descended from some other sort of animal. Dinosaurs were on Earth the same time as our ancestors. And dinosaurs' descendants are still on Earth as turtles and ostriches and seagulls and so forth. "Why did they disappear before Adam and Eve?" Hmm, there's a little bit to unpack there. Why did dinosaurs go extinct? I mean, they really didn't, as a whole, they just gave birth to smaller progeny, and over many thousands of generations, became turtles and ostriches and seagulls and whatnot. As to "Adam and Eve," it's a story. Modern humans descended from archaic humans, which descended from apes from another time period. It wasn't like there was a chimpanzee that gave birth to a modern human all of the sudden - no reasonable scientist ever said that's what happened. All organisms on Earth are descended from other organisms, going back millions of years, and every generation is a little different than the last. That's what evolution is. It's not a new species suddenly appearing out of thin air, it's gradual changes over many generations of life. We see it today. MRSA didn't exist, only Staphylococcus aureus, then, over hundreds of generations of that organism living around hospitals, some of the descendants of Staphylococcus aureus gradually became MRSA. Then hospitals started using a different disinfectant, and now, hundreds of bacteria-generations later, there is VRSA. There is evolution that happens in blatantly observable ways during our lifetimes, we just like to argue about whether it exists or not because we prefer to embrace some stupid (stupid because it purposefully ignores physical evidence) interpretation of some ancient story. To be clear, believing that evolution exists does not interfere with the belief that God created life or whatever. Evolution is a proven scientific theory (before you go "gotcha - you said 'theory,'" please look up the meaning of the word), and has nothing to do with where the first life came from. That's a totally different topic in biology.
