Yeah, my winter driving skills are decent. They have to be - I live in rural NH. :-)
-
Yes. I live in New England. If you can't handle snow here you don't have any business on the road.
-
Yes..I sure do. I used to be a truck driver and drove over the Sierra's every night. It snows a lot there sometimes.
-
I stay calm, cool, and collected in order to drive in New England winter weather.
-
no i am a new driver and i am way to scared to drive in thos conditions
-
it is rather easy
-
Im not that exprianced but the times I have had to drive in it I done fairly well.
-
Yes. I learned to drive in Nebraska winters, and those skills (and that caution) works in pretty much all icy conditions.
-
i do but i dont trust other people
-
No because I do not live around snow.
-
Yes, since we seem to have those conditions six months of the year where I live. I have found that good snow tires make a world of difference.
-
So far no accidents for the last 20+ years.
-
yea i do-but i learned to drive in the snow-was raised in vermont-you learn or you do a lot of pushing a car out of a ditch---smile and enjoy the day
-
ive never seen snow. i run from the cold!!!
-
Yes. I work for GM in the group that tests ABS, Traction and Stability systems. As I type I am at our winter test site where we drive the vehicles to develop and validate these systems. I drive the cars in conditions that are way worse than any public road. I am only worried by the other people on the roads.
-
Yep. I lived a lot of years back east and got lots of experience. I only had one scary slide on an ice patch that didn't result in an accident of any kind. I just had to take my foot off the gas and let the car slide. Fortunately I was already going pretty slow so it didn't turn out badly. I think most people drive way too fast for bad weather conditions.
-
I've never actually driven in those conditions...it doesnt snow in Australia. :( (Or at least, not were I live)
-
i drove from central ohio to northwestern, montana then down to dallas during the blazzard of '05. didn't have a choice about the timing of the trip and it wasn't easy. but, about 2,000 miles of snow and ice, and no accident or getting stranded-so, even though i live in the south, i'd have to say yes.
-
Yes, I have much experience.
-
I'm okay but would rather just stay home. My husband is excellent and with our winter tires and our AWD Subaru Forester, it takes a lot of snow nd ice to keep us home. Which is why we always get picked by other relatives to do the driving in storms:-(
-
Definately, my motto is "Let the guy behind me rearend me, I'm not gonna be the one who rear-ends the person in front of me". This of course attests to my fiercely defensive driving as far as increased stopping distance, controlled speed, subtle lane changes etc. As you can imagine I have a great deal of wintery driving conditions under my belt, and so far, no accidents or close calls.
-
YES! Traction is a crutch for the weak. My driveway is glare ice but I have yet to slam a snowbank or get stuck on the incline. Not bad for all-season tires ;)
-
I dont have good driving skills in any condition!
-
Hahaha no i dont have good driving skills in general.
-
Yes Western PA is extremely hilly. We average about 4ft of snow here a year. So... I have no choice but to learn how to navigate well in slippery conditions. ;)
-
Yep, grew up in Alaska drove almost every road in the state winter and summer for a living. The people that drive and shouldn't because they are scared, are the really dangerous ones. If they slide a little, they freak out. These on board computer systems like abs and traction control are no substitute for actual skill, and actually prevent people from developing winter driving skills to some extent. The biggest driving danger up here is hitting a moose. (REALLY)
-
Yes. I drove OTR (Big Truck)for five years without an incident. Weather only stopped me twice and I never used chains.
-
yes... a little less in a rear wheel drive vehicle
-
Yes, my Hummer handles it really well.
-
Actually, yes. I have never gone in the ditch. :)
-
I live in Houston, Texas...a place where Christmas was once in the 70's...what do you think? ;) :P
-
Yes.
-
yes
-
Snowy, icy conditions... are the reason I passed my driving test in the first place. So according to the instructor... who was too damn cold and too disinterested to actually test me in the snow and just passed me anyway... Yes, I suppose I am?
-
Yes. Grew up with it in New England. Not as much fun now that most cars are front-drive. Love to watch TV reports when snow falls on people unaccustomed to it! "Three inches of snow have crippled the city!!"
