It could very well be a plugged fuel filter. As the RPMs go up there is more demand for fuel. If the fuel filter itself is filty it may be that enogh fuel cannot flow through the plugged filter to meet the demand. You would experience stumbling at high rpm or high demand acceleration. It's been a couple months since you asked the question but the answer still applies.
