  • No law, but you did sign the contract which spells out the terms under which you can break out. It also spells out the penalties for trying to break out, usually that you must pay rent for the vacated unit until either the rental period is up or the landlord rents out the unit to someone else.
  • I know that in our contract it says that if you break the contract, you must pay two months rent.
  • This is contract law not state law, and the conditions are spelled out in the contract.
