Is this a homework question? I see a series of similar question here that all appear to be from you and these sound like the kinds of question that might be asked as part of a geology class. (Being a geology instructor, I know these kinds of things very well.) This being the case, I don't think that I am going to give you a straight answer to this question. Instead, let me ask some questions that should lead you to the correct answers. What are the most famous group of prehistoric animals? What happened to them? (I am not asking about what caused this to happen, just what is it that happened to them.) This even marks the end of the Mesozoic. The same basic kind of thing defines the end of the Paleozoic only it was a much bigger such event. If this is not enough for you, then I would suggest that you try doing a Google search for the names. (BTW both Paleozoic and Mesozoic are proper nouns. Therefore, they should be capitalized.)

Do your own homework, kid.

They both ended in mass extinctions, if that's what you mean.
