ABS lights are most commonly caused by a failed wheel speed sensor. Sometimes they are caused by a faulty control module or a malfunction in the master cylinder, more specifically the individual solenoids in the ABS part of it (the electro-mechanical thinger between the master cylinder and the individual brake lines). It is unlikely that you could fix any of those yourself. I've replaced my own head gasket before and I won't touch the ABS myself.
