  • It depends on how you own the property. If you each have an undivided interest in the whole (e.g. joint tenancy, tenancy in common), then you only need one person.
  • The ownership is based on inheritance. Parents died and all their children have ownership. Some want to live there, others want to leave as is for the memories, and none want to sell. How is it legally decided who can do what with the property?
  • In my state it pretty much has to be unanamous because if one owner invites or favors a tenant or visitor then legal means of evicting someone don't work.
