Will The Sims 2 work with a generic video card?

Sims 2 should most definitely work, the only thing that I can imagine could happen would be that at times the Walls, while building a house, wont appear (loading issues), or some of the effects wont be present. All of this can be adjusted in the game and it conforms to maximize your video card settings, so it should be able to work with a generic video card.

If you're referring to integrated graphics, Sims 2 will still work, but it may be extremely slow and freeze up momentarily. I personally couldn't stand it.

I play with an integrated graphics card and the Sims 2 and all it's expansions work just fine on mine. I've got all the options turned up on the highest setting.
