2/4/2026, bad enough were Americans are going bankrupt just to afford food. And people used to say those doomsday preppers were crazy. 🤪

Prices have really climbed, especially on meat. Eggs were really high for awhile during/after the big bird flu epidemic where they killed off so many millions of birds. Fortunately, egg production resumed quickly because it only takes a few months from hatching to egg production for new pullets. Beef is a much longer process. Pork has gone up alot too. Holidays 2024 one could buy the big pork shoulder for tamales etc for about .95 cents a pound. Holidays 2025 it is 1.95 to 2.99 a pound, depending on the market. Ground beef went from around 2.00 a pound to around 5 or 6.00 bucks a pound. Produce is higher too, due to transportation costs. Once gas and diesel went up to 5 or 6.00 bucks a gallon, everything went up to cover the added fuel costs. Hopefully, prices on groceries will start to drop again soon, like the prices of gas and eggs did. 2/4/26.
