Yup, although bins in US English are called "waste carts." By definition: "A large, durable, wheeled container, usually made of heavy-duty plastic, that is designated for collecting and storing waste for curbside pickup." In the state I live in, the city provides a black/gray cart for trash, a blue cart for recyclables and a green cart for yard waste.

yeah the funny part is half the time they are all emptied into the same ground fill. I used to do a bit of work at the tip. Saw this happen many times.
