Some prejudice is in everyone of us. Its funny how its ok if your a relgious person. Evil is in everyone of us.

This sort of question is difficult to answer, because it requires conjecture on our parts about the thought process of total strangers. I would guess that some people are just close minded about other people's ways. 9/25/24

Shadow Of The MindI think you’re right in saying some people are close minded about other people’s ways

I don't subscribe to this, but I know the answer. The answer is: some religious people have this idea that all of their moral beliefs stem from the teachings of their chosen religion. That is: they (mistakenly) perceive one and only one basis for their morality. SO: these same people assume that any person without a religious basis in morality is in fact amoral, having NO basis for any morality.

1) The bible states those who do not accept Jesus, are of the antichrist, the spirit that has entered the world. Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, The spirit of the antichrist is the birds that eat the seeds along the path in Jesus’ parable (Mark 4:4, 15). It is “the god of this age” who blinds the minds of unbelievers, keeping them from seeing “the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:4). It is “the father of lies” (John 8:44). The spirit of the antichrist is “the great dragon . . . who leads the whole world astray” (Revelation 12:9). Second reason, atheist usually believe there is no basis for objective morality. Christians and most believers see objective morality is given by God's law. (I appreciate killing infidels may seem immoral, as do other religious verse). To believe in a non objective morality, no distinct moral standard as a certain fabric, means that right and wrong are simply indifference. That can be seen through out history, when Christians and others were murdered for sport in gladiator rings. There are demonstrations throughout time of the rise and decline of moral nature. Because atheists also believe that the world came about by random chance, and for no reason, then life also has no objective meaning. So what does it matter what you do, 0 ÷0+0= 0, hence a life out of random chan e that will end in the same manner, cannot have objective meaning, this is the nihilistic stance, Friedrich Nietzsche struggled with before going mad and believing he was the god Dionysius.

Shadow Of The Mind
You talk about “god” a lot in your answer but it doesn’t directly answer my question. The world did not come about by random chance. The Earth formed out of dust and gas around the young sun 4.6 billion years ago. It’s science. -

The whole universe formed from random chance, it wasn't planned, it just happened. You were asking why some people would think atheist evil. The fact they have belief in God and you don't, so your standpoint is the opposite to theirs a godless heathen, no objective morality -
Shadow Of The Mind
Are you saying that because my standpoint is the opposite of theirs that they think I am evil? There is such thing as a moral atheist and they are not understood by religious people. People who believe in “god” get the wrong idea about atheists. I consider myself a moral person differentiating right from wrong by people’s actions.
