What does it mean to fall to sleep for a minute and wake up to a room looks like there is smoke, but it's not smoke could this be something mental health going on, I do have mental issues ?

Hi DWW, seeing smoke when you wake up is out of the ordinary, so yes, I think you should see your doctor and he/she can determine the cause.

Its definitely worth mentioning to your therapist/psychiatrist. I've never heard of this before, either. There are olfactory hallucinations - cases where people wake up to the SMELL of smoke, but I've never heard of seeing smoke that wasn't there.

I wonder if it might be a visual problem rather than a mental health problem. Perhaps bleary eyes upon waking are "clouded"...and this might be indicative of something such as diabetes or simple dehydration...or whatever (I'm no doctor, I'm just guessing at possible causes). In any case: I think you should look for a physical medical reason before you look for a mental/emotional reason.

Yikes! That exact thing happened to me a couple weeks back! I was sure the house was full of smoke until I turned on the lights. No smoke at all! I don't think I have anything "mental" going on because of it. I honestly don't know what to make of it though. 6/19/23 happy "juneteenth"

Maybe you were in a hypnogogic state. The time that is immediate between sleep and waking up. When imaginary images can feel very real. An experience of mine some years back is when I saw the ghost of my uncle. It was right between the border between sleep and waking.
