• Bautista, he was a communist. I know I did not spell his name correctly.
  • Fulgencio Batista. He wasn't a communist, although he was earlier a member of a Democratic Socialist Coalition & Liberal Party governments he was right wing, conservative & very anti-communist.
  • Technically the leader of Cuba that was overthrown in 1959 was Fulgencio Batista. However behind him were several American Mafioso . Chief among them was Meyer Lansky. Fidel Castro was successful because of the level of corruption in the Cuban government. It is not known whether Castro was a communist in at the time of the revolution however he surely had become one by the time Castro nationalized United Fruit and other US companies. United Fruit (now Chiquita Banana) was also behind the CIA coup in Guatemala.
