★StevoWhy would Russia blow it's own pipe line? Do you believe propaganda? Who is saying Russia did it ?

Linus van PeltIf Putin already has control of the tap why would he need to destroy it. There is an energy crisis in Europe and surely Putin would like to have the option of using the pipeline as leverage when the coldness of winter hits.

Who gains from it? That is: what is the motive? There are several possibilities. (A) Russia. It would be an excuse to cut exports to Western European nations withOUT retaliatory economic action (IF the sabotage were not recognized as such...which was perhaps the plan). (B) Ukraine. Reducing Russian exports to Western Europe would act similarly to a voluntary embargo on the same exports. That is: it financially harms Russia (at Western European expense). However: one would expect that Ukraine would not have the wherewithal to engage in such an operation. (No subs, no North or Baltic Sea ports). (C) Any Western nation with sufficient naval power that supports Ukraine. For the same economic reasons as B, in secret, (again) to sort of force Western Europe to purchase less gas from Russia, since they refuse to enact an embargo. Of course, the nation that did this would get a lot of flack from their allies if it were discovered that they did it.

the rest of the world including some US channel say the US did it. Why would Russia blow up its own pipe line? -

For the reasons stated in my answer. You wrote, "the rest of the world including some US channel say the US did it.", but that's certainly not true...and my news source is the BBC, not any US source, and the BBC, though not committing itself yet, seems to be favoring the position that Russia did it. -

fox news said it. Most mainstream news are muppets that tell you what you are sposed to think .
