If everything looks pink, the green component might not be making a good connection. Usually just wiggling the cable will bring it back, unless the cable is severely damaged. Was the full body thing from SNL? I remember one of The Naked Gun films made that joke, but I don't know who did it first.

Linda JoyIt may have been The Naked Gun that did it. It was a long time ago. I've wiggled the cables. It seems to happen more when its hot. It doesn't bother me much, but if I can get a cable at the thrift store to fix it I may as well next time I'm there.

bostjan the adequate 🥉It might happen more when it's hot because the heat causes the metal to expand, so wherever the short is might be buckling, and the rubberized coating of the cable might be getting too soft to support it. Is it a VGA cable, HDMI/DVI, or component? If it's a simple component cable, you can probably fix it yourself with a crimp tool. If there are a lot of pins or very small conductors, though, it'd probably be much more reasonable to just replace the cable.
