Number of people needed to operate an outrigger canoe

Does anybody know how many people are needed to operate an outrigger canoe with a sail on it? Two? One for steering at the back, and the other one in the middle to handle the sail? I'm talking about a traditional ethnic outrigger canoe. Thanks!

I don't really know. Based on the images of an outrigger canoe, they come in different sizes. Two person or a 3 person.
