  • Of course. He was a devout Christian, a Protestant and member of the Church of England established by his father. His heir, while he had no children, was his older sister Mary, but she was a Roman Catholic, and so Edward tried to leave the throne to a Protestant relative, his cousin, Lady Jane Grey. It didn't work, but he did make the effort. By the time Edward VI came to the throne, Christianity had existed for around a millennium and a half. EVERYONE in England knew about Jesus.
