I never owned a turtle. Could have been interesting. Now life starting to roll along quickly.
  • Yes, most of the old silent movies were well acted. It was a new media and everyone was learning new things in producing the movies. I enjoy them.

I agree. I watch them often. Movie awards not sure if these were given.
  • no, i think its more fun if theyre talking

True this is with many people. All different movies to watch. No person is left behind.
  • not lately, i dont watch tv much
  • Sometimes, yes. Without sound, the actors had to put so much more into exaggerating their movements and expressions to help the viewer understand what was going on in a scene, and of course a quick look at some written dialogue , in between, helped even more. Some of my favorites from that era include the antics and comedy of The Keystone Cops, Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin and the Harold Lloyd movies. Their camera work was very good. Actors work hard I agree. You can like these actors quickly. People watching movies time past was a good gift. Thanks for video to watch. Harold Lloyd I enjoyed and how it was made.

Watching new movies could be difficult with HOH. Reading closed captioning you find this fast type sometimes. Not sure on movie theater if they have cc.

  • Absolutely! The Birth of a Nation (1915) and Nosferatu (1922) are some of my favorite silent films.
    • Frank1955
      I enjoy those too. lol
  • Yes, I prefer watching them over trying to listen to them, taste them, smell them, or feel them.
  • Yes. Silent movies were brilliant. Early movies directed by Alfred Hitchcock were silent and he is my favourite movie director of all time. Also, some of the Laurel and Hardy movies were silent which were legendary. The original Nosferatu was a silent movie and that was a classic. Facial expressions in acting in the early times were more convincing than they are nowadays. It takes more than speaking words to be a convincing actor or actress when there is facial expression that tells all which does not require sound.
  • Only if they have closed captions
  • Yes. Those and the earlier talkies had better acting than most current things and the topics were often more interesting than newer ones.
  • I'm not a fan of silent movies. Still, they are much better than the first talkies that followed them!!!
