"In the beginning" there are no dates given. Certain evangelical sects say 5 or 6000 years ago, but that isn't realistic. 1/1/26

Some believe the creation wasn't the creation of earth. Because in Genesis the earth was a formless planet covered in water, and without life, hence something already existed, and God hovered over it. "Tohu and bohu and hosek” = formless and void and dark. As for when Adam and Eve were created, it was on the 6th day, but the bible also says "With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day” (2 Peter 3:8). That said the Torah means teaching, they are spiritual teachings not scientific books.
