The police direct traffic and provide security for the local mega church and for football games where I live. Why don't these venues have to hire and pay their own security/ traffic directors?
I attend concerts and they hire their own security that isn't taxpayer funded. I'd love your input, Thanks

The police are paid by the venue for those events. Back in the day when I was on the job, those extra details paid more than working the streets.

Hardcore Conservative For the high school stuff we usually got a flat rate, I think it was $60 for a football game. The other details, like security at the all night restaurant or the grocery stores, we were paid by the hour, usually $25. The other high profile stuff we pulled in $40/hr. Then the venue had to compensate the city if they wanted a police car there also. That was like $10/hr.
