Can gravel be covered to make it safe for an axolotl?
I will be getting a pet axolotl very soon! I set up my tank yesterday and continued doing more research (which I should have done before I set up the tank). I read that gravel is extremely bad for axolotls but it's what I have in the tank. Is there anyway that gravel can be covered with something (like a plastic sheet??) without harming the axolotl? Or would it be better off taking out the gravel and replacing it with sand? I want to keep the gravel in the tank because it cost me quite a lot of money but I still really want my axolotl to be healthy and not in danger, please help!!
