  • ONP is full of awesome stuff to see -- but it does make a huge barrier to the Olympia Peninsula, with one road -- Highway 101 -- going south on either side of ONP. So, really, you don't drive 'through' ONP. You can drive into it, but you have to drive back out along the same road. Best places to visit if you're driving (not hiking long distances): Hurricane Ridge (south of Port Angeles), Lake Crescent (West of Port Angeles), and the Hoh Rain Forest (north of Aberdeen). If you don't mind hiking, you should also hit up Staircase (west of Hoodsport), Sol Duc Hot Springs (between Port Angeles and Lake Crescent) and Lake Ozette (near Forks). Also, from Lake Crescent, you can hike to the top of Storm King mountain, which has soe of the best views on the planet in mid-spring. Side note: somewhere on 101 south of the Hoh but before Aberdeen, there's a sign that just says "Big Spruce". If you find it, stop and look...it's amazing.
