• Any kind of running can eventually cause aches from exercising, but it is not bad for you knees. In reality, it's actually a good exercise. Many athletes run sideways run sideways for practice, including but not limited to Rugby players. However keep in mind, anything not in moderation can be bad for your health, and you need to look where you are going.
  • There is no risk to the knees with proper warm ups. Running sideways also helps strengthen the hip and groin muscles. If a person overuses a tendon during certain activities such as dancing, cycling or running, the tendon stretches like a worn-out rubber band and becomes inflamed. With care, good stretches and warm ups the knees will not be injured by sideways running.
