I don't want to be the negative answerer or anything, but cats will stare at things they're going to kill for days before they kill it if its a tough target. I'm NOT saying that this is definitely the case by ANY means! But be careful, and if she tends to follow you into your room tonight or appear to be snooping around you at different angles, looking for "methods" etc., watch out. If it were my cat I would not let her into my room at night and would make her leave the room if I were home alone and she was staring at me.

it wants something ... petting, food , water, is the litter box clean? they are trying to tell us something. stare back and blink a few times - thats like blowing kisses in kitty language.

I guess its watching for you to do something funny. Cats are very cautious creatures, so maybe they are just watching to make sure there arent any dangers coming from whoever they are watching.

Cats are psychic and its really just looking at the ghosts behind you. Havent you noticed they sometimes stare at blank walls meow then look like they are watching something or someone that you cant see moving around the room ??

Cats are aliens from outer space. Their task is to observe our natural behaviour and also set up special test situation in which they can test our reactions. From what you describe I would say you are under increased sureveillance for some reason. But like with all lab animals it's hard to say if that is good for you....

I would like to know this also. My cat foxie who is 12-13 years old keeps staring at me. Sometimes I'll turn around and she's just staring at me like she's trying to tell me something. She doesn't move at all and just stares deep into my eyes. Spooky. I would love to take her to a cat shrink as it feels like I'm not meeting her needs.
