Is root beer soda? If not, why is it mentioned seperatly in the "soda and root beer" catagory?

Root beer can either be a brewed drink (like a beer) or it can be a soft drink that is flavoured. Hence the separation.

A soda by definition is carbonated water, hence all the Root Beer drinks are soft drinks because they contain no alcohol obviously. This web site lacks true intellect to guide it in the proper direction. This is yet one of the many discrepancies that you have diligently noted here. Thanks for posting such a poignant question.
