I don't think the movie clearly mentions Jasmine's mother or what happened to her.

I think she died when Jasmine was very young...but I'm not 100% sure.

Her mother would have been a Concubine in the Sultans harem, maybe a favorite, maybe not. But disney wasn's completely accurate in Jasmines life. As a Princess she would have just been another girl born from a concubine and would have lived in the Harem with her mother until she became older and was married off. So no one would have actually seen her except the Eunichs and maybe her father if he cared to see her, since he would have had so many daughters. But the reason we don't see her mother is because Disney was following the part of where a Concubine to the Sultan would have never been seen except by the Eunichs, other women and the Sultan when he wanted to bed her.

disney seriously has something against mothers...they are hardly ever mentioned or horribly killed (Bambi)...so there is really no mention of mothers.

Walt Disney after he got big built his mother a house, and some problem with the construction(I think a gas leak) killed her. After that you don't see a lot of mothers in anything Disney did. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid, Lion King, Snow White, Aladin, Beauty and the Beast, ect...
