  • Use E brakes to hold car on hill, never trust park on automatic trans on a hill.
  • When you put your transmissinon in park; the transmission is in neutral, with a pin lock to prevent the drive wheels from turning. If the linkage is not properly adjusted; the pin lock cannot function properly. Still there is the possibility the pin has been broken or bent to prevent the transmission from locking.
  • Just confirming that it is either busted or bent park pin. E-brake is always the best way to secure your car on a hill. The cost of the park pin being replaced is probably not worth it when you just need to make sure your e-brake is in good working order.
