Hypafix is a brand of medical tape that is used for dressing wounds. Hypafix tape is known for being a comfortable tape that allows for freedom of motion while limiting the risk of wound contamination.
Wound Care
Hypafix tape is used to keep surgical gauze and wound dressings in place. It is used around the edges of the gauze and taped to the gauze and the skin.
Surgical Equipment
Hypafix tape can be used to secure surgical equipment. Catheters, breathing tubes and IV lines can all be secured with Hypafix tape.

Because Hypafix tape is made with non-woven materials it is less likely to cause allergic reaction when it comes in contact with the skin.

The non-woven material used in Hypafix tape allows it to make a better connection with the skin. This prevents more bacteria from getting into wounds or medical equipment, lessening the risk of infection.

Because Hypafix tape is made of flexible material makes it easier to dress wounds in awkward positions. Flexibility can also make the dressing more comfortable for the patient.

Hypafix is a self- adhesive, non- woven fabric sheet for secure and rapid fixation. It is made from white polyester material and coated with hypoallergenic adhesive on quick- release backing paper. Hypafix also provide complete coverage of the entire dressing, thus reducing risk of contamination. Its excellent comformability simplifies shaping around joints and awkward body contours to allow the patients greater freedom of movement. The tape is permeable to both air and moisture, helping to reduce the risk of maceration. Hypafix also radio transparent.So it does not have to be removed for either radiotherapy or X-ray examinations.
